Can double-depth shelves be applied to cold storage?

Cold storage refers to the warehouse with an ambient temperature below 0 degrees, which is generally maintained at minus 5 degrees to minus 30 degrees, so it is different from the normal temperature warehouse. The storage equipment for storing goods in the warehouse should be able to adapt to such an environment. There are many storage shelves that can be used in cold storage, such as drive-in shelves, shuttle shelves, etc., so can double-depth shelves be used in cold storage.
Double-depth shelves are also called double-depth shelves. They are parallel shelves designed in double rows and need scissor forklifts to store goods. The warehouse utilization rate is relatively high, and the picking rate can reach 50%. In fact, the structure of the double-depth shelf is not much different from the beam shelf, but the layout design is different. Beam shelves are generally discharged back-to-back with two rows of shelves. About 3.5 meters of forklift aisles need to be reserved between the two rows of shelves, while double-depth shelves are arranged with four rows of shelves back-to-back, saving half of the forklift aisles and improving the utilization rate of warehouse space.
It should be noted that the double-depth shelf must use a special double-depth forklift to access the goods, regular the forklift can not complete the use of double-depth shelves. Customers who buy such shelves must take this into account. A forklift is also a more expensive handling equipment. If it is found to be useless after buying it, it will do more harm than good.
Double depth shelves can be used in cold storage, but it is necessary to consider that cold storage has high requirements for goods access efficiency. Because the cold storage temperature is low and the operating cost is high, it is recommended to choose dense storage shelves, such as shuttle shelves, if you want to achieve a higher level of storage capacity and access efficiency of goods. In short, the double-depth shelf performs well in terms of space utilization, carrying capacity and stability, and can also be used in cold storage, and the price is more advantageous than the dense storage shelf. If the requirements for the access efficiency of cold storage are not so high, or the budget for purchasing shelves is not many enterprises for the time being, it is also a good choice to choose double-depth shelves.
