Recently, a friend asked me that a large warehouse in their company used to store goods in the form of floor stacking. Recently, it was not enough. He wanted to put on the shelf and make use of the space. So he asked me how high the shelf should be. Today, on this issue, let's talk about how high the shelves in the warehouse are most appropriate.
First of all, let's analyze this problem and see how high the shelves in the warehouse are. This is divided into three elements that we need to understand, one is the warehouse itself, the second is the shelf itself, and the third is "the most suitable". So we need to start from these three points to analyze one by one.
First, a volume of the warehouse itself congenitally limits the height that the shelves can do. A warehouse does not consider its area, as long as it is enough to see its actual height. If the height of the warehouse is 20 meters, then theoretically the shelf height can also be 20 meters. In practice, we can actually make it 15,6 meters high by removing factors such as warehouse roof structure and fire ventilation system. If your warehouse is only 2,3 high, just like a normal living house, then your shelf can only put a medium-sized shelf, and there is no discussion about the shelf height.
Second, the shelf, is a kind of warehouse storage equipment, it is divided into many kinds of shelves, different shelf types also have its corresponding high applicability. For example, the most common shelf height can be in a range of 5-20 meters, while the height of the free shelf is generally below 3 meters, and the height of the high shelf (vertical shelf) is generally above 20 meters.
Third, a practical shelf. The shelf itself is just a storage device, it is used to serve the enterprise, in order to meet the storage space in the enterprise warehouse. How high the shelf should be considered according to the actual needs of the individual, not the higher the better.
Combined with the three points we mentioned above, the height of the shelf is not directly determined by a certain factor, but after taking into account the height of the warehouse, the actual storage situation of the user and the type of shelf selected, it can be determined how high the shelf needs to be.
